how to configure Cvs other than 2401 port

Hi
I have linux setup  which has cvs repository

i want to access cvs through wincvs  --- other than 2401 port

i have configured cvspserver  to  2402  and checked through wincvs client
it throws error

My requirements
1) whether CVS can run on different ports
2) when offshore team want to use cvsrepository  through wincvs

kinldy informus what is bestway to provide service to team by securing port
