Moving repository from unix to windows

Hello,
   I have a list of files that  came from unix repository's back up    i 
have placed them under a windows repository,
but when i try to check out files using cvsnt i  get this error:
cvs.exe checkout: in directory .:
cvs.exe checkout: cannot open CVS/Entries for reading: No such file or 
directory

How can solve this problem?   And Can i move a repository from unix to 
windows in this way?
