branch in CVS and Netbeans

I am confused a bit about using "branches" in CVS through Netbeans. When I
define a branch, where does the netbeans / CVS store the checkout version of
modules in that branch. For normal main branch, I believe it is the same
folder in which the netbeans project was initially created.
