$ find . | grep -v \/CVS\\\(\/\\\|$\\\) | tr \\n \\0 | xargs -0 -n 10 cvs add --

or, a little bit better:

$ find . | grep -v "\/CVS\(\/\|$\)" | tr \\n \\0 | xargs -0 -n 10 cvs add --

Either way, I prefer understandability over efficiency here. It is not
that such a skript is running 24/7 on my machines. ;)


Anyhow, I am sure there are better ways to achieve the intended result
than what I have written here.
