It's always worth to do a textual searches for relevant keywords in all
project files just to make sure you have all involved parts.

It's pretty standard editor I would say ;)

For the handlers you have to use Class Wizard. E.g. for menu handlers just
select the item and then right-click then select Class Wizard. It will ask
to assign the class but you don't want that so press Cancel. Now you can
select the class and then take the COMMAND for command handler or
UPDATE_COMMAND_UI for modifying the menu state, like enable text or set the
checkmarks and then use the button to add function or edit existing one. For
shortcuts you use the '&' as a quick accelerator for menu and there is
another Accelerator section in the resources to create global accelerators
(that is when menu is not visible).

You should try with VS.NET then - this thing is really tricky ;)
