Hi Jens,

This is a known issue in the actual stable releases. If you update your
code base you will see that this problem is solved. The problem was that
e.g. rev 1.6 has no description (commit message). So the parser
regonized revision 1.5 as the revision description.

bye

Kalle

Subject: [cvsgui-dev] still problems in cvs log parser for graph view

While verifying my latest fixes for large graphs in MacCvs, I stumbled
across a problem with incorrect log descriptions being dumped in Graph
view:
The file I checkes has about 770 revisions on the trunk plus a few
branches and quite a few tags.

One problem is that revision 1.5 seems to be skipped: I see 1.4 and the
next one is 1.6.
When I click on rev 1.6, I get the following log message written to the
console window:

> ----------------------------
> Revision : 1.6
> Date : 1996/7/16 7:56:0
> Author : 'dodo'
> State : 'Exp'
> Lines : + 3 -1
> Description :
> ----------------------------
> revision 1.5
> date: 1996/07/10 07:21:00; author: martin; state: Exp; lines: +7 -0
> Added CodeResModuleLoaderTerminate

(looks like 1.5 isn't correctly recognized while parsing the log and is
'merged' into 1.6)

Also, when clicking on the first revision (rev 1.1), I get the
following incorrect log description:

> ----------------------------
> Revision : 1.1
> Date : 1996/6/28 7:42:0
> Author : 'martin'
> State : 'Exp'
> Lines : + 0 0
> Description :
> ----------------------------
> revision 1.542.2.2
> date: 2002/04/15 13:17:49; author: jens; state: Exp; lines: +5 -2
> #pragma warning -> #warning

Again, another revision seems to be 'merged' in (and as expected,
1.542.2.2 is missing from the graph).

Here's the excerpt from the plain cvs log for this file for rev 1.4-1.7:

> ----------------------------
> revision 1.7
> date: 1996/07/25 12:56:00; author: martin; state: Exp; lines: +18
> -14

and here's an excerpt around rev 1.542.2.2.2:

Since I don't know too much about the graph log parser, maybe Karl or
Jerzy have an idea what's going wrong?
Probably because for some reason, there's an empty comment for those
revisions. Is this something that's legal, or is this somehow a strange
corruption in our cvs repository?
In any event, our parser should probably be smart enough to handle
those situations...
