Subject: [cvsgui-dev] Issues building gCvs from cvs

Here is my latest issues list building gCvs extracted from CVS (i.e.,
1.1b1) on gentoo 2.6.7 on AMD64:

(1) common/AppGlue.cpp fails to properly detect a working CVS with cvsnt
2.0.53 because of the following line 494 in launchCVS:

startupInfo.hasTty = ( !test ? gCvsPrefs.CvsConsole() : true );

This is fixed by changing the second param to false. I've previously
reported this.

(2) rf/uwidget.cpp has the following line 1589:

gtk_widget_grab_focus(GTK_WIDGET(w)); // TODO doesn't work

By commenting out this line, all the focus issues are corrected. I've
previously reported this.

(3) For some reason, cvsnt is segfaulting trying to install the gettext
files - I'm looking into that. That is causing numerous issues like
autogen.sh reporting "can't find po/Makefile.in.in".

(4) autogen.sh is reporting "AM_PATH_PYTHON not found". I had to update
am_macros/autogen.sh to force it to use the latest version of automake,
autoheader, etc.

(5) make install fails. For some reason, it is looking for
mkinstalldirs at the same level as the cvsgui directory. In my home
directory, I have a Projects/gcvs directory. That is where I checkout
the source, so inside that is a cvsgui directory. make install wants a
mkinstalldirs inside the gcvs directory. I simply created one there to
get past this. I've previously reported this.
