Alex,

are you sure the error message was generated by the cvs tool? The only 
time I saw an error -35 message, it was generated by the MacCvsX 
application and essentially was more of a warning that could be 
ignored.

Can you reliably reproduce the problem with your setup?
Is there anything fancy about your volume name, path, etc.?
