gcvs GTK2 graph won't show until click

Richard, I've got the graph working, except that it won't show until I
click on one of the log entries. The window comes up but remains a
solid gray background until I click one off the log entries; simply
clicking in a blank area of the graph has no effect. I looked in
OnBtnClicked to see what it is doing differently from OnDrawing.
OnBtnClicked doesn't have either of the blocking calls or the empty
event loop. However, if I comment out the event loop in OnDrawing, the
graph does show right away but then it generates a flood of additional
events.

Any idea how to fix this? I tried putting gtk_widget_show(_all),
grab_focus, activate, etc at the end of OnDrawing, all to no avail.
Appreciate any suggestions.
