Half of the problems has to do with packaging - like MSI installer and 
quite oversized binary. These may not impact Mac. 

There are however other issues like "edit -x" which locks files for 
good or sudden breaking changes here and there that tend to hit at 
random (I don't mean the bugs but changes to the way things work). To 
be honest I don't even know why would you want to have something like 
bug-id in the version control - seem more suitable for defect tracking 
system but that particular case that is not a big problem. There was a 
couple of other issues along the way and it just doesn't feel good. 

These are not a showstopper issues so please don't worry for now.
