I'd make it an option: using Kirill's approach would allow to diff a
sandbox folder against a specific revision/tag in the repository,
which may be very handy as well (although much slower than the
modification time stamp approach): e.g. one could diff the sandbox
files against HEAD or a branch, etc.
I think both options have their use, so I'd really provide both ways
to find diffs...
