Just to remind you that not every platform may have the same  
semantics when opening multi-file diffs. I haven't yet had a look at  
the options in Mac OS for opening multi-file diffs - I know at least  
one tool that knows how to recursively diff directories whereas  
others may only be able to diff single files.
Most likely, I guess whatever code does the multi-file diff inside  
cvsgui will  eventually call some common API passing either a file  
list or a folder path, but I'd just like you to keep in mind that  
we'd need some common entry point where the various platforms can  
implement calling the external diff tool and this common entry point  
may need to know whether it's diffing files or folders...
