Well, here's a weird one.  Wanting to verify that my changes would build 
from scratch, I checked out from CVS on my 32-bit system.  When I tried 
to run autogen.sh, it kept telling me that it was unable to checkout 
when running autopoint: couldn't connect to lock server on 127.0.0.1.  I 
spent about 2 hrs comparing my dev system to this one (both running 
Gentoo, dev is AMD64) and I could not find a configuration difference. 
Finally, I gave up and just loaded cvslockd manually, after which 
everything proceeded without error.  Running cvsnt 2.5.03 on 32-bit, 
2.5.01 on 64-bit.

Any idea what would cause cvslockd to fail to load?
