You mean because the update would get the remaining files? FWIW, that could be avoided by placing a file named Entries.Static (contents do not matter - could be empty) in the CVS folders of that temp sandbox. No new files will be retrieved then. CVS itself creates this file when you checkout individual files instead of modules/directories.
