My little anecdote about 3 different projects enviornments in which I
have worked.

- VSS, 1 year, 4 developers.  2 repository corruptions.
- VSS, 5 years, 3-5 developers.  Average of 3 repository corruptions
per year requiring a restore from tape backup.
- CVS server with WinCVS clients, 4 years, 6 developers.  Zero
repository corruptions.

Yes, your CVS repository can get corrupted, it just has not happened
to me so far.  However, when it started to feel like a fullfillment of
expectation that another repository corruption happened, I knew I did
not like that tool.
