cvsgui crashes whenever i try to make a change to the preferences

I'm new to CVS and in this case Wincvs

I'm presently running with Wincvs 2.0.6.1 +
cvsnt +
Python 2.5

I can make changes to under the admin/preference page to other tabs, 
but whenever I try to commit a change under the Wincvs tab, Wincvs 
crashes.  I've been installing/removing different versions of Wincvs, 
cvsnt and Python and it did work at one point earlier but now it 
crashes all the time.

I had the hardest time trying to install Python and have the macros 
work with Wincvs which is why I was installing/removing so many 
times.  Now this does work correctly as well as TCL.

Any help would be appreciated
