Yes, there is and it's already in the message you quoted. My comment was 
just an addendum (also note how it started with "Alternatively..."). 
Just go to the WinCvs tab of Admin|Preferences and enter "Python25.dll" 
in the Python DLL field.

And BTW: The non-recommended builds are really worthwhile as well. 
AFAICT what they're lacking in comparison to the recommended build is 
not stability - only completeness maybe.

P.S.: Also in my message was a request not to contact me directly unless 
the issue discussed was either truly private or about anything that is 
not part of WinCvs.
