Sorry, I should have been more specific.  I'm using CVS NT Service 1.11.1.2 (Build 36).  Very old, but it works.  And it has worked very well for years with the settings I indicated.

It cannot, a correct CVSROOT string consists of 3 parts:
- The protocol specifier
- The server and user specifier
- The repository specifier

These parts are separated by colons (colon separated list).
Your new CVSROOT does not even specify the protocol and it does still
use a repository specifier with local drive path with an embedded
colon (!!!) and a non-allowed backslash. All slashes should be
forward.

Then I don't understand wht you mean by "Using WinNT Server v1.2", to
my knowledge WinNT Server is available as Windows NT4, Windows 2000
and Windows 2003, none of which match your specification....
