All these questions address how CVS works. This mailing list is for
support of the CvsGui family of products, which are just CVS clients.
I'd suggest you read some Getting Started material on CVS. The CvsGui
site documentation page http://www.wincvs.org/doc.html has many
references to background material. Many people today use CvsNT, and
that also has documentation about how CVS works.
