How to retrieve a revision from the repository using a Python macro

I have a macro which finds all the revisions (or all the tags) of a
selected file. I would now like to have the macro retrieve each of
these revisions from the repository without changing anything in the
local sandbox.

Almost like what the 'Retrieve revision' or 'Retrieve revision as...'
menu items do when you right click on a revision or tag in the graph
view. Only, i would like to do it for every revision of a file, not only
one.

What would be the best way to do this?
