I am trying to connect to a CVS server (a SourceForge project) using
SSH. I am using Putty as the SSH client and WinCVS 2.0.2.4.
SourceForge documentation says to set the CVSROOT to
":ext:USERNAME@PROJECTNAME..." . When I try to import my project WinCVS
gives me the error:
cvs import: warning: unrecognized response `'"ssh"' is not recognized as
an internal or external command,
' from cvs server
cvs import: warning: unrecognized response `operable program or batch
file.
' from cvs server
cvs [import aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if
any)
because it cannot find a "ssh.exe" in the path. Since I am using Putty,
I imagine WinCVS should be looking for plink.exe instead. In previous
versions of WinCVS (1.X) I could redirect the rsh command on the
Preferences | Ports tab. I cannot find how to redirect the rsh command
on my 2.0.2.4 version of WinCVS.
How to I make WinCVS 2.0.2.4 recognize Putty/plink as the SSH client?
