I'm intrigued about this percieved major Unix emphasis in the
documentation for WinCVS. As far as I know it is ONLY a Windows tool
intended for use almost exclusively in a networked environment, and most
of that is probably LAN-based. You just need a recent version of Python
installed and install and configure CVSNT and WinCVS as per the
instructions.

There is a very detailed description of the setup of CVSNT on
<http://web.telia.com/~u86216177/InstallCVSNT25.html> and detailed
instructions on how to use WinCVS on <http://ikon.as/wincvs-howto/>

Note - if there is already a CVS or CVSNT server you are trying to use,
you don't need to install your own CVSNT server, just the client-side
components should be enough on the PCs where you intend to run WinCVS.
But it was useful for me to install my own CVSNT server too so I could
see and understand both sides of the story... but maybe that's just me.

It's really not that hard to do. You really don't need a detailed
step-by-step procedure for setting this stuff up, but the above links
are about as good as you can get IMHO; others may have different
resources they prefer to use. If you still don't know what you are
doing, go read some of the excellent tutorial stuff out there about what
CVS is for, what it does, how it does it, etc.
