I just wanted to add that by "state exactly" it helps a lot to get a copy
of the commands you ran and their results. You can easily copy and paste
that into an email from the WinCvs log window.

But I'd really suggest that you RTFM at
<http://www.cvsnt.org/manual/html/index.html> for a while (or read any of
the books Bo mentioned). This will answer many of your questions.
