Why the project's size is not same as original?

One Project, I import it into CVS Server which run on Linux OS.
I checkout the module with WinCVS in my PC which run on WindowsXP OS, I delete all the CVS hidden folders, I find the project's size is not same as original?
Who can tell me why the project's size is not same as original?
