When you checkout through Terminal, do you have to enter your password?
MacCvsX does not provide a way to enter passwords - you'll have to  
work with an shh-key.
Also, if you ssh-key requires a password, you'll need to make sure the  
Leopard ssh-agent is responsible and can actually retrieve the key  
from your keychain.
