Need help with switching to work on a branch...

I am new to this discussion group.
I am using WinCvs (version 2.0.2.4) and encountering a problem that may have been addessed in the past.

I did the following but cannot see the tag column on the WinCvs Gui.
Basically, I created a branch but cannot see the tag column with the branch name.  Here are the steps I followed:

1.  Did a clean checkout from trunk.
2.  Highlighted the main checkout folder and selected the  "Modify-Create a branch" menu item.
3.  On the "Create branch settings" dialog that pops up:
    a.  I entered the branch name:  ABC (for example)
    b.  Pressed the OK button.
    c.  Waited for this process to complete.
4.  Highlighted the main checkout folder and right clicked on the "Update..." menu option.
5.  On the "Update settings" dialog that pops up:
    a.  On the 2nd tab, checked the "By revision/tag/branch" box and entered in the branch name, ABC.
    b.  Pressed the OK button.
    c.  Waited for this process to complete.
 
I don't know why I still don't see the tag column showing the branch name.  Because of this, I believe I am still working from the trunk, which is not what I want.  I want to work from the "ABC" branch.

Is there a step I could be missing or is there a way I can 'enable' the tag column to show?
