Just tried on Mac OS X 10.6 and it seems to only apply to a single file there, but execution takes an awful lot longer than when selecting the menu item with the mouse. Not sure what's going on...
Would need to do some debugging on a PowerPC machine, but don't hold your breath - this may take a while until I get to it :(

Can you elaborate a bit more what exactly you observed?
What command did you try?
