IIRC, the shortcuts specified in the macros' source files are ignored on Mac OS X. Also, since cmd-B will actually trigger your macro, there cannot be a conflict in the shortcut assignment, since only one menu item will ever own a shortcut (i.e. pressing a shortcut key-combo will never trigger more than one menu item).

I'm still not sure what's going on - will have to get some debugging going, which means digging out my old PowerPC computer :(

In the meantime, can you try what happens if you assing a shortcut to the Macros > CVS > "Show log entry" menu item?
This is what I used for a quick test and while I got ridiculous execution times, it appeared that the command only applied to the single selected file...
I'd be interested to hear what happens for you when you do the exact same test.
