I have used Tortoise CVS for the past two years with no problems. For the past month, however, the update command has been problematic. Sometimes when I update a directory, I get the following message and the files in the directory are gone. "In C:\...: "C:\Program Files\TortoiseCVS\cvs.exe" -q -x update -d -P CVSROOT=:sspi:.:2401/files/ConfiguredData ? Thumbs.db cvs server: <file name> is no longer in the repository cvs server: cannot open directory . for empty check Success, CVS operation completed" No one has removed the files. Three of us use CVS, and this problem has happened on each of our machines on numerous occasions. I now copy the files I want to update to my desktop before updating in case they are removed. Interestingly, if I save a copy of the files, update, the files are removed, and then I copy the removed files back to the directory, I can add and commit them with no problems. The version number is even one greater than it was before the files were removed, and the complete history of each file is preserved. Any help is greatly appreciated.
