Strange Behavior

Dear list members,

this is my first experience with TortoiseCVS. I am facing problems trying to
connect to a remote repository when using tortoiseCVS, although i face no
problem when connecting remotely using cvs on a linux client box.

On my server i have the following command:
# cvs -f --allow-root=/home/sioux/.cvsroot pserver

On the client linux machine i have the following working 100%, as below:

cpd@calipso:~$ echo $CVSROOT
:ext:[email protected]:/home/sioux/.cvsroot
cpd@calipso:~$ cvs co CVSROOT
[email protected]'s password:
cvs checkout: Updating CVSROOT
U CVSROOT/checkoutlist
U CVSROOT/commitinfo
U CVSROOT/config
U CVSROOT/cvswrappers
U CVSROOT/editinfo
U CVSROOT/loginfo
U CVSROOT/modules
U CVSROOT/notify
U CVSROOT/rcsinfo
U CVSROOT/readers
U CVSROOT/taginfo
U CVSROOT/verifymsg
U CVSROOT/writers
cpd@calipso:~$

But, with tortoiseCVS errors occur sometimes:

Em C:\Documents and Settings\Administrador\Meus documentos\x: "C:\Arquivos de
programas\CVSNT\cvs.exe" -q checkout -P .
CVSROOT=:ext:[email protected]:/home/sioux/.cvsroot

cvs checkout: warning: unrecognized response `Access denied' from cvs server
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

Erro, operação do CVS falhou



I am loosing my hair because errors occur on the fly. Some times it works
nicely, some times errors happen. I am very confused.
