Works on command line, but not in Explorer

I'm using TortoiseCVS under WinXP to access a CVS workspace on a 
Linux machine, mounted using ExpanDrive over SSH. I checked out the 
workspace using the Linux command line using the ":ext" protocol from 
a remote CVS server.

On the WinXP machine, I can access the workspace using CVSNT and 
TortoisePlink (CVS_RSH is pointed at TortoisePlink); I get the 
password window, fill it in, and everything works. Using TortoiseCVS 
in Windows Explorer, however, I keep getting "Access Denied".

When I add "-v" to TortoiseCVS' SSH parameters, here's the output of 
trying to do an update:

I tried adding "-pw myPassword" to the SSH parameters, and it worked. 
Same log output as above, except that the end changes to:

>cvs update: warning: unrecognized response `Opened channel for 
>session' from cvs server
>cvs update: warning: unrecognized response `Started a shell/command'

So, now everything works, but if I take the "-pw" out, it breaks 
again. The obvious (although perhaps not correct) interpretation is 
that someone is caching the wrong password and handing it to the CVS 
server; specifying it in the command line overrides the cached 
password. (All the "warning: unrecognized response" messages are 
pretty strange, too.)


Any thoughts?
