Server Name Change: What to Do ?

Some time ago, Admin changed the server name from devdb01 to devdb01-old

Now in tortoise "Checkout" I entered the new name:
http://i.imgur.com/4lTgLWz.jpg, check-out works.

But I have file changes now I want to commit and am getting "connection
failed" error : http://i.imgur.com/zHr89WV.jpg

1) How to fix this ? How to have tortoise fully aware of the new name ?
2) I did some search and old posts seems to indicate that there's no way.
    So should I save the changed file to a backup spot, delete the
folder(s) and do a checkout and apply the file changes - Is this the way to
go ?
