actual client/server connection in TortoiseCVS, as well as the
'checkout' and 'commit' etc. etc.) and we also continue to develop
TortoiseCVS including Windows 10 support.

Please download the trial version from our web site of the latest CVS
Suite 2009R2 and if the problem still persists, please contact our free

To upgrade, uninstall all of : CVS, CVSNT, TortoiseCVS,
TortoiseOverlays, WinCVS, WinMerge; then reboot and install CVS Suite
2009R2 Trial.  Your existing settings will be preserved.  CVS Suite
works best with CVS Suite Server, but will mostly work with older CVS
servers too.

You should be able to connect simply using a CVSROOT connection string
like this:

   :ssh:putty-profile-name:/repo-name

  or

   :ssh:ipv4-server-name:/repo-name

Be sure you are running Paegent to handle the key exchange.

The only cipher we do not currently support using the in-built :ssh:
protocol is the new one added in Putty 0.68 in February 2017 - ECC
(elliptic-curve cryptography).  We are planning on adding that in CVS
Suite 2.8.02.


If you specifically need ECC it should work OK as an external protocol -
please contact pre-sales technical support for assistance with your
settings - we'll need your cvsdiag file and possibly other diagnostics.
