[viewvc-dev] Minimizing dependencies

Hello,

I just gave viewvc trunk a try and especially the pygments integration 
is just very cool! Are you up to removing other dependencies as well? At 
the moment ViewVC calls external programs for e.g. diff or compression. 
This is on Windows not optimal because you usually don't have this tools 
around. Things are more worse on x64, because there aren't any unixutils 
for Win64 yet.
(I know of course that x86 binaries work fine, but I try to avoid them 
on an X64 platform ;))

What about using python libs for that kind of operations as well?
