[viewvc-dev] ViewVC 1.1 - referenced symbol not found

On a test system currently running Subversion 1.4.2 and ViewVC 1.04

I installed ViewVC 1.1  (viewvc-1.1-dev-20080708)

Changed the httpd.conf to point to the new ViewVC 1.1 directory
Modified viewvc.conf

Restarted HTTPD

Tried to access a Repository via IE with the following message:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and
inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might
have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I have the same version ViewVC1.1 running successfully on another system.

Any Ideas on where to look for the reason for the "ImportError:
ld.so.1: python: fatal: relocation error:"
