[viewvc-dev] ViewVC 1.1.0-beta1 released.

The developers of ViewVC are pleased to announce the availability of
ViewVC 1.1.0-beta1.  This is a Beta release of next major version of
ViewVC.  You can download this version (and other versions) from

This release is the first official release to introduce some of the new
things we've added to ViewVC since the 1.0 versions, and includes[1]:

 * Extensible path-based authorization w/ Subversion authz support
 * Subversion versioned properties display
 * Unified markup and annotation views
 * Unified, hassle-free Pygments-based syntax highlighting
 * Subversion svn:mime-type property value honoring
 * Support for full content diffs
 * Standalone server improvements
 * Commits database management and query enhancements
 * Support for per-root configuration overrides
 * Optional email address obfuscation/mangling
 * Pagination improvements
 * ... plus many bug fixes and additional enhancements!

Many of your have been successfully running nightly development
snapshots of the ViewVC 1.1-to-be codebase for some time, but the
release of this Beta version is a stake in the ground marking feature
completeness and the beginning of our drive toward a final 1.1.0 release.
You are encouraged to upgrade to this release and to help us complete
the push to a final release candidate by offering feedback, reporting
bugs we overlooked, and so on, to [email protected].  You can find

[1] As this is a beta release, we can only speculate as to
    availability of the listed changes in the final 1.1.0 release.
    This is the list of what we've done, and we have no intent on
    undoing anything we've done, but it ain't over 'til it's over.
