Thanks for sharing the patch.

ViewVC already supports per-vhost configuration within a single viewvc.conf
file shared across vhosts.  It also supports environment-variable
declaration of the viewvc.conf path, which works well when used with
Apache's SetEnv directory inside the vhost configuration items.

But our users' needs vary, so maybe someone might just need your flavor of
solution.
