DON'T DO THAT!" :-) Still, thanks for bringing this problem to my attention. There are almost always complexity/performance costs, or space/time costs, etc. ViewVC has its scalability limits, to be sure. But you've given me some stuff to thin= k about and at least one obvious fix to make.
