[viewvc-dev] Current target version of Python for ViewVC

What is the current target version of Python for ViewVC? I am looking to
add some additional options to bin/cvsdbadmin to optimize loads and
refreshes, and would like to consider optparse to process them. Since
optparse was introduced in Python 2.3 almost 10 years, ago, I would not
expect using optparse to be an issue. I looked at the currently supported
RHEL versions as an indication what Python is still under support. RHEL 3
shipped with Python 2.2, and support when EOL in 2009. RHEL 4 shipped with
Python 2.3, and entered EOL last year. I would assume then that Python 2.4
is the target version, correct?
