Does Apache run as 'root' on your system or as something > else (like 'httpd')? (Your previous mails seem to indicate that it runs as > something else.) Nothing unusual as far as I know - CentOS 5.3 server, running Apache 2.2.3 as the user 'apache'. Subversion 1.6.1 obtained by installing the "Summersoft" RPMs available at http://summersoft.fay.ar.us/pub/subversion/1.6.1/rhel5/ I added a line of debug in the annotation exception handler that printed the value of cfg.options.svn_config_dir - it was as configured in viewvc.conf, a directory the 'apache' user can read/write to.
