[As asked on IRC]
Hi. I develop tikiwiki, which is hosted on sourceforge and uses SVN. I'm
pretty sure that recently, file histories started stopping at branch
points. This is pretty painful when trying to find when a bug in branch
x was introduced, you have to go back to trunk. and then even the trunk
is truncated in part due to our migration from CVS.
For example:
http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/branches/proposals/4.x/tiki-index.php?view=log
I asked SourceForge about this issue and was told ViewVC was recently
upgraded from 1.0.5 to 1.1.6. could that be the reason?
I found a ViewVC 1.0 which doesn't have this behavior; you can compare
http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/viewvc/trunk-1.2/README?view=log (ViewVC
1.0) with
http://tikiwiki.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/tikiwiki/branches/5.x/README?view=log
(ViewVC 1.1) for example.
In comparison, trac has a "Revision Log Mode:" field, with possible
values "Stop on copy" (default) but also "Follow copies".
So, did viewvc change anything recently (1.0.5 -> 1.1.6) regarding the
"Revision Log Mode" field, going from Follow copies to Stop on copy?
