I agree that failing to display files is unacceptable.  I am, however, just
trying to figure out how to reproduce this problem.  I'm failing at the
moment to do so.

I have 1.7-dev Subversion bindings, not 1.4, but I doubt that would be the
reason.  The sorting logic is all handled in ViewVC proper, not in the
version control provider modules.

Are you using the dir_pagesize option?  Or, are you referring to the
repository in viewvc.conf by its URL instead of by a local path?
