[viewvc-users] select for diffs shows No changes

Hi - wonder if someone can help with an issue where when selecting files 
for diffs all I see is "No changes" when there are. I've googled and found 
another thread where a user had the exact same issue and it was to do with 
where "co" was installed - I'm sure I'm NOT having this problem. 

So I've installed gnu diffutils for Solaris 5.10, version 2.8.7 and made 
sure this is in the path the web server user has.
Installed rcs 5.7 and made sure its using gnu diff and that the web server 
user has the install prefix in its path for later use.
Installed ViewVC 1.0.12 and made sure the rcs_path directive points to the 
RCS install location and my CVS roots.

Access to my CVS root via ViewVC is fine, its just that when I want to see 
the diff I get nothing? I've manually checked files using the cvs diff 
commands and see the changes as expected.

Can anyone shed any light on why ViewVC is not doing the same?
