I've moderated this post through, and while I did not subscribe you to the
list, I did add you to the allowed_senders filter for this list.
Subscription isn't strictly required.  I do ask that you Cc: the list on all
responses, though.

As to your question:  ViewVC offers a couple of different built-in search
solutions, but neither is particularly good for use as a way to locate files
based on their names.  The 'use_re_search' option lets folks filter
directory listings based on the *contents* of files in those directories;
the 'cvsdb' MySQL integration (which is a bit more work to setup and
maintain) lets users search through commit history, and allows filtering
based on filenames, but the search results are going to be commits, not so
much just a listing of matching files.  Sorry.  :-(
