State of new patch format (darcs 3)

Hi,

I stumbled upon the email from last year and I wondered if I could
provide some help. What would be needed to move things forward?

Coding in Haskell would take me some years I guess. ;-)
However I can happily test things or write docs / a migration guide if
someone points me in the right direction.
