I think most helpful of all would be if you could test with the actual
Debian monotone sources as fetched by:

dget http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/m/monotone/monotone_1.0-1.dsc

These should be the exact same sources as the Debian build machines are
failing on.
