Posted on behalf of forum user 'Matt Janulewicz'. Most of the time any errors from '-xv' are not good. I realize you're probably not in the best situation, but in a perfect world you'd have a separate, trustworthy host around (my Spidey sense says there's a hardware issue, but that's conjecture) so I personally wouldn't trust that server any more. Then rebuild your database from the last checkpoint, subsequent journals, and the current live journal if you can get at it, plus all the library/archives in your current server's P4ROOT. Considerations for the future: * maintain a second offline db using daily rotated journals, on the same host but different disks, so you have a copy lying around at any given moment to restore from * secondary warm standby replica of master server so you can (theoretically) point users to a new host or have DNS switched over * if you're not already, daily journal rotations and at least weekly checkpoints, backed up or sent to another physical location -- Please click here to see the post in its original format: http://forums.perforce.com/index.php?/topic/5500-urgent-p4d-is-completely-unresponsive _______________________________________________ perforce-user mailing list - [email protected] http://maillist.perforce.com/mailman/listinfo/perforce-user
