Posted on behalf of forum user 'Sambwise'. I always forget about this because I've never actually used it, but an easier option is the template.client configurable. You set up a client with the default view you want, do "p4 configure set template.client=that_client_name", and every client created after that uses your template client to build its default view. The approach I was thinking of was using a form-out trigger -- there's an example in the admin guide: https://www.perforce.com/perforce/r15.1/manuals/p4sag/chapter.scripting.html#scripting.triggers.forms.out The trigger approach lets you be a little more sophisticated than the template approach because you can modify the behavior based on the user -- for example in the Workshop there's a script that customizes the default client view for registered users to directly the "//guest/their_name/" folder that they have write access to. -- Please click here to see the post in its original format: http://forums.perforce.com/index.php?/topic/5514-global-ignores _______________________________________________ perforce-user mailing list - [email protected] http://maillist.perforce.com/mailman/listinfo/perforce-user
