Hi,

[I apologize in advance if this has been asked and answered before. If a similar
topic has been already addressed, please direct me to it.]

I'm currently using P4V Rev. P4V/NTX64/2017.3/1592764 and my server is on
version P4D/LINUX26X86_64/2016.2/1568552 (2017/09/20).

>> Is it normal that typemap settings are ignored when branching new files
without the -t option?

For example:

1. Inside a perforce stream I have an .xaml file that is currently set to
<utf8>
//mydepot/mybranch/tools/MyTool/App.xaml <utf8>

2. Then I changed the typemap setting in 'p4 typemap' for .xaml files
to be  <text>  ( i.e.: text //....xaml )

3. When I intregrate this file into another stream using 'p4 integrate'
WITHOUT -t to propagate source filetypes to target files, the file still gets
branched as <utf8> instead of text.
(Note: The typemap also seems to be ignored when renaming/moving the same file.)

Let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks,

-JW
