Posted on behalf of forum user 'Matt Albrecht'. For a long list of reasons I don't want to go into here, my Perforce server is running on a Windows box. Recently, the old warm backup server went down, and I'm looking to replace it using the formally supported warm backup replica server. I was wondering if it's possible to run the backup server on Linux? If possible, this could potentially be a way to eventually migrate the main server over to Linux. The admin guide includes the warning "All replica servers must be hosted on a filesystem with the same case-sensitivity behavior as the master server’s filesystem." However, if the P4 server is running in forced case insensitive mode, could this correct the problem? -- Please click here to see the post in its original format: http://forums.perforce.com/index.php?/topic/5571-hot-backup-server-on-different-os-from-main-server _______________________________________________ perforce-user mailing list - [email protected] http://maillist.perforce.com/mailman/listinfo/perforce-user
